Hi Ted Couple of comments. Albert George is shown as being killed on 08/05/1915 with his name on the Menin Gate memorial in Ypres. This would indicate that his body wasn't found. Is it possible it's just his name on his grandparent's stone? I've come across many of these. (From CWGC site) >From Ancestry christening records Albert George was christened on 1 Jan 1894 and Alice Evelyn was christened on 24 March 1895 at Salisbury with the parents being Albert William and Bessie. In the 1911 census Albert William and Bessie are living with the 2 children in 14 Rugby Rd, Newport. According to the form they only had 2 children from their marriage and there are no KIMBER births with a LANNING mother's maiden name after 1911 so probably they only had the 2. As you say there is an Alice KIMBER marrying a Percival STONE in Salisbury in 1925. In Jun Qtr 1960 there is a death for an Alice STONE aged 64 District Salisbury Vol 7c page 482 Also from FREEBMD there are deaths for Dec Qtr 1964 STONE PERCIVAL 88 SALISBURY 7C 494 and Mar Qtr 1968 STONE PERCIVAL 72 SALISBURY 7C 1075 One of these could be Percival. The easiest way to confirm would be to get the marriage certificate and check Alice's father's name. To counter all this though, on Ancestry there are2 member's family tree which has Alice's parents as Henry KIMBER and Martha PIKE, but there is a tree that has Alice's parents as Albert William and Bessie and Percival dying in 1968. Albert George b. 1894 but was killed in Ypres in 1914 and is buried with his grandparents nr Chichester 2..Alice Evelyn b.1895 I believe that Bessie died in 1944 and Albert William in 1955 possibly in Newport. However my main objective is to find what happened to Alice Evelyn. There was a suggestion that she married someone call Percival STONE possibly in 1925 but I am not comfortable with this information. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Incidentally, last October I placed a request to the list for Bessie's brother Albert Lionel LANNING and had wonderful responses.
