Western Mail Thursday June 17 1926. OBITUARY. Mr. Harry HAMILTON, formerly a bandsman in the !st Life Guards, who resided at Newport for some time, has died at Putney. He had an adventurous career, taking part and being wounded in the Jameson Raid. He served in the South African Campaign and in the Great War. The funeral of Mrs. Ena SHEEN, wife of Mr. E. Arthur SHEEN (chairman of the Cardiff Stock Exchange), 15, Connaught-road, Cardiff, took place on Wednesday. A service was held at St. Margaret's Church, Roath, prior to the interment at Cardiff Cemetery. The vicar of Roath (the Rev. D.J. JONES, B.A.) officiated, assisted by the Rev. L.J. WELLINGTON, M.A. and the Rev, W.B. GODFREY, M.A. The chief mourners were:- Mr. E.A. SHEEN (husband), Mrs. S.WALLACE (mother), Mr.T. and Mr. E. WALLACE (brothers), Miss M. WALLACE (sister), Mr. G. CORY (brother-in-law), Dr.T.WALLACE, jun (cousin), Col. K. VACHELL (uncle), Col. A.W. SHEEN (brother-in-law),  and Mrs. SHEEN, Mr.E.C. NICHOLL-CARNE, Mrs. A. SHEEN, and Miss P. SHEEN, and Mr. and Mrs. Wyndham WARE. Among those who attended the service were;-Messrs. H.T. BOX, George THOMAS, J. LITTLEJOHN, and E. LYDDON (representing the committee of the Cardiff Stock Exchange), Mr. W.H. EVANS (secretary to the Stock Exchange), Dr. R.J. SMITH, J.P. (Cardiff City coroner) and Miss SMITH. The funeral of Mr. Luther J. DAVIES, 71, Commercial-street, Newport, took place at the Newport Cemetery on Wednesday. The officiating clergyman were the Rev. A.A. MATTHEWS (vicar St. Paul's), the Rev. F.J. MILES, D.S.O., O.B.E. (pastor, Commercial-street Baptist Church), and the Rev. S.J. LAKE (Brynamman). The chief mourners were:- Mrs. G. DAVIES (widow); Mr. D. DAVIES (son); Mr. D. DAVIES (father); Mr. and Mrs. H. DAVIES (brother and sister-in-law); Mr. and Mrs. W. WALKER, Mr. and Mrs. W. DICKS, Mr. and Mrs. L. DAVIES (brothers-in-law and sisters); Mr. D. HOPKINS (Blaenavon brother-in-law); Mr. and Mrs. J. EVANS, Blaenavon; Mr. and Mrs. D.B. EVANS, Gwaun-cae-Gurwen; and Mr. and Mrs. J. DANIELS (uncles and aunts); Mrs. T.P. EVANS (aunt); Messrs. D.J. LEWIS, Aberdare, and J. GRIFFITHS, Llandilo (uncles); and Mr. W. EVANS (cousin). Amongst those present were Dr. M. Ross McCAY (Caerleon); Mr. J.J. Boyd HARVEY, Bridgend (representing South Wales centre of A.C.U. and a large number of other South Wales motorists. Forty-seven members of the Paris Welsh Association accepted the invitation of Mr. W.D. JERMINE, formerly of Cardiff, and Mrs. JERMINE to an all-day pic-nic at their country residence at Beauchamp, near Paris. All had a m,ost happy time. Mr. JERMINE, who is a former president of the association, is the moving spirit in all functions pertaining to Wales and the Welsh in Paris. Now that the bathing season is on many visitors here ask the question how is it the Western Mail does not give the time of high tide at Porthcawl, seeing you give Port Talbot, &c.
