    3. Western Mail Monday June 7th 1926 Mr. T. Bevan ARTHUR offered at The Boar's Head Hotel, Carmarthen, on Saturday, the freehold property known as Myrddin Garage, John-street., Carmarthen (38ft. by 48ft. 6in.), with a concrete court 17ft. 6in. deep, and now in the occupation of the vendor, Mr. T. Parke JONES, as to the ground floor. The first floor is held as a schoolroom at a rental of £45 p.a. by the Rev. T. Glyndwr RICHARDS, B.A., B.D., to whom the property was knocked down for £1.500. Messrs. UNGOED-THOMAS and KING, Quay-street, Carmarthen, were the solicitors. The farm of Hendreganol, in the parish of Jordanston, Pem., has been sold to Mr. David JENKINS of Hendrewen Dairy Farm, for £1,700. The acreage of the farm is 102. Mr. W. Rees CARVER, Fishguard was the auctioneer. The Esplanade Hotel, Porthcawl, which was recently offered for sale by auction by Messrs.POWELL and POWELL (F.A.I.), Cardiff, in conjunction with Mr. J.E. EVANS (A.I.S.A.), Cardiff, and withdrawn has been sold privately to Messrs. R.E. JONES (Limited), the well-known caterers. The firm already own the Marine Hotel,which is also situated on the esplanade. Mr. William G. BOND, Cefn Coed, has been appointed surveyor and sanitary inspector for the Vaynor and Penderyn Rural District Council. Sarah PUGSLEY, of 23, Common-road, Llantrisant, was admitted to Cardiff Royal Infirmary with a fractured thigh, the result of falling in the backyard. Two pupils of the Nantymoel Girls' School- Margaret A. LEWIS and Constance DAVIES-have gained scholarships at the recent examinations held at Howell's School, Llandaff. Mr. F.C. ELLIOTT, chief collector of the water rates section of the city treasure's departments at Cardiff, was presented with a canteen of cutlery at the Cardiff City-hall on Saturday, on the occaision of his retirement after 48 years' service. Mr. J. E. HENNAH, the Newport artist, whose Academy picture has been purchased by Mr. G. Leighton SEAGER and presented to the town, is hoping to hold an exhibition of his paintings in Newport in the near future. This may be arranged under the auspices of the Art Gallery Committee.
