The discovery was made by Edward MILLWARD, of Mill Farm, St. Mellon's, who cut the body down, and it was eventually removed to the Whitchurch mortuary. The body was that of a man 5ft.8in. in height, with dark brown hair and brown eyes, and dressed in a navy blue suit, white soft collar, brown mixture tie and cap, and black laced-up boots. Up to a late hour on Sunday night the body had not been identified. While picking ivy leaves from a wall bordering the River Taff, on Saturday, Beryl May HUGHES 6, daughter of Mr. John HUGHES, labourer, of Castle-street, Treforest, over balanced and rolled down a 20ft. bank into the water. Police-officers were quickly on the scene, but it was not until some time later that the body was recovered. Mrs. FEAR, wife of Councillor FEAR, Blaina, who collapsed in the street on Friday, died at her home on Saturday morning. She leaves one daughter and three sons, one of whom is Mr. Arthur FEAR, of the Royal Academy of Music and a well-known Welsh Baritone. At the inquest at Swansea on Daniel Matthews 52, a collier, of Gorse-road, Cockett, the widowe told the coroner (Mr. J.C. MORRIS) that her husband had been in very bad health with chest trouble. A few days before his death there was some unpleasantness at the house, and there was some rough play. The Coroner: I don't propose to go into that, because when I hear the doctor's evidence I think it will be right to say it had nothing to do with his death. Dr. P. McKETCHIE said there were marks of violence on the temple and chest, but death was due purely to natural causes- pneumonia. A verdict was returned accordingly.
