    3. Hi Irene If you check on the FreeBMD site you will see a number of possible candidates. I assume you know when Maria was born and the age at death of most of those who died is listed. If one of these is the correct one then you could send for the death certificate. Happy hunting! 3. Hi Robert Thanks for answering my question The house was called Mill house which makes sense if there had been a mill there. On the local website it was said that Mill house was nearer the rugby club and that it had been demolished and other buildings put up on the site but the house that I`m thinking of was covered over by the waste from south celynen colliery thanks again Sylvia On Fri, May 18, 2012 at 1:47 PM, Robert Treharne Jones <tjwizard@tiscali.co.uk> wrote: > Hi Sylvia > > The only building I can see on the 1879 map which fits that location appears > to be Newbridge Corn Mill, on the small spit of land between the railway > line and the river. > > Robert > > -----Original Message----- > From: monmouthshire-bounces@rootsweb.com > [mailto:monmouthshire-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Sylvia Morgan > > Has anyone got any information to give me about a farmhouse that stood at > the bottom of Beynon street Newbridge on the other side of the railway > line.? 3. Dear Gordon and Listers Gordon - you don't say whatyour grammar shcool was, only that David Hughes previously taught at West Mon. Have you contacted your school?   West Monmouth Grammar School still exists and is now a comprehensive school. It has a website westmonmouthschool.com and I have in my past researches had occasion to contact the school and found them quite helpful. A polite e-mail, letter or telephone query should glean results. Interestingly the subject of my correspondence with the school was because I had a relative (or at least I thought she was a relative, later disproved) who taught French at the school during the 1950's and 1960's - Madame Francis. Friends Reunited website may also be a source of information as there are some former pupils of the school registered on it.   Best wishes in your research. 3. Hi Gordon Might I suggest you write to your former grammar school for information on David Hughes? In my experience schools have been quite good at this, assuming the school still exists, of course, in which case the local education authority might be your next best bet! 3. Dear Irene I think I've found them living in Bedwas on the 1851 census but I expect you already have that information? John was born in Bedwas, Maria in Dowlais, and by 1851 they had three children, Joshua, Ann and Elizabeth Robert From: irene moores I am researching Maria Waters and John Williams who married on 3.10.1840 at St. Barrwg's, Bedwas. They are amongst my Gr grts....... Their wedding in 1840 is the furthest back I have reached......any more information would be a real boon. -----Original Message----- From: Robert Treharne Jones http://www.parishbmr.org.uk/barrwg.html -----Original Message----- From: irene moores Is St. Barrwg's church still in Blackwood, Bedwas? ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MONMOUTHSHIRE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
