Hi Harold That works to a degree now but there is a message saying this is not available when I try the Transcripts. All other things seem to work. I am baffled. Never mind, I'll keep trying. Hi All who tried to help. Many thanks but this is what I get log | Complete US Census collection | Birth, marriage & death records | US military records UK Census collection | Historical newspaper collection | US immigration collection and when I try "Birth, marriage & death recs" it takes me straight into Ancestry. Puzzling, I have never failed to get it before. Ah well, I'll keep trying. Hello Dawn, I too have tried and failed to connect to Monmouthshire Parish Record Transcripts.Has Ancestry bought it up?Why was there no prior warning? What a shame...such a useful tool. Roy
Hello Are we no longer able to see the transcriptions of Monmouthshire Parishes as normally available free at monfamilies. i.e. those done by Mike John and other transcribers. They appear to have gone to Ancestry or am I missing something here as every time I try, I get Ancestry? It was so useful to be able to look through the whole parish registers for groups of families. Maybe someone knows what is happening. Dawn

Thank you Paul for the WILLIAM,S information, GEORGE & ELIZABETH had a niece ELIZABETH PITT so the JAMES or JANIVA that you found must belong to her family. Thanks once again. Regards, Syd
Hello Everybody, If there is anyone with the 1901 census would you kindly keep a look out for GEORGE WILLIAMS born 1843 at Newport, his occupation was a Barge Waterman, I believe he married in 1891 to ELIZABETH REES b, 1843 Newport or nearby. Thank you for any help. Regards, Syd

Hi Syd, I believe the following are your George & Elizabeth and they have become younger. His occupation is given as "Unlicensed Pilot Seas." George M is a grandson and James Pett is a Niece who another person has identified as Janiva, fits a niece better than James!! Elizabeth has the same birth place as the 1891 census.
