    3. Hi Robert. Fantastic, I had just sent a note to the list with the same Davie, so I guess the death certificate I have sent for is proberbly correct. Thank you so much for confirming what I found. Regards. 3. G'day All There are lots of Jones families out there in the Eastern Valley but mine only goes back to my great-grandfather Edwin Jones, born about 1847, but I don't know exactly where, and there are a few out there about the right time. The Lewis family is represented by my great grandmother Sarah, mother of Hector Vernon Lewis my grandfather(no father, was brought up as his mother's brother). The Prossers I have only just found out about, Mary Jane Prosser married Edwin Jones in 1874 but I haven't yet got the marriage certificate. Hopefully, it will be on its way during next week. Then perhaps I'll find out more about that side of the family except that I can't find here birth registration yet. 3. I would be grateful if some kind persn with access to Monmouthshire Parish Records could do a ook up for the baptism of EVAN ROSSER born 1790ish. This is a shot in the dark because he was married and died in Neath, Glamorgan but the 1841 Census shows a definite 'N' in the born in county section. Unfortunately, he had died before 1851. One of his daughters, my g g grandmother, lived for a short time in St. Woolos parish and married in the church there before returning to Neath, so I am wonderingf if there is a connection with that area. Many Thanks, Gaynor Harris in Cornwall

    3. Hello there I'm seeking information on the County Club in Newport. I don't know if it is still in existence but I'm pretty certain that in the early 1900's it was situated in Mill Street and was called THE MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY GENTLEMEN'S CLUB. I'm particularly interested in the 20 years ending 1910 but having said that any information would be very welcome even if it is modern times. My interest stems from the fact that a Great-uncle, Charles Arnold, was a Manager/chef in the early 1900's and I can't find a record of his death. Any help would be very welcome#] Good luck Tom Arnold, ex Newportonian
