    3. Hello Jules. From the archives XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Hi Jules The mother had indeed remarried by 1851, to a man called William Anson. Together with John 20, Richard 17, Shadrach 13, Thomas 10, Mechach 7 and Abendigo 3 (all spellings as recorded in census) they all lived in Puddlers Row, Aberystruth, wherever that was! The four youngest boys were all born in France, and William was born in Staffordshire. William and the four oldest boys worked as puddlers, which I'd not heard of before and apparently involved stirring molten iron at the forge as part of the purification process. A visit to Llangors Lake in the Brecon Beacons National Park, county of Breconshire (seven pictures). This feature has not been shown on 'Images of Wales' since July 1998. 2. A two-page account of the close connections between Major General Sir William Nott of the East India Company, and the town of Carmarthen in the county of Carmarthenshire (fourteen pictures). This feature was first shown on 'Images of Wales' in July 2004. As usual, these webpages will be on display for one week. The marriage certificate has the following information (it's a poor copy, so my transcription may have slight errors): 19 Sept 1901, at the Parish Curch, Cwmyoy. Charles Powell, full age, bach, labourer, Berry Cottage, Llanvihangel Crucorney Father: Joseph Powell, Labourer. Catherine Johnson, full age, widow, The Rock, Cwmyoy Father: John Walbeyoff, Labourer Witnesses: Henry Powell, Annie Shaw Married by Rlashiell C. Lewis, after banns. I know that Catherine Walbeyoff was previously married to a George Johnson (in 1889, Abergavenny) who died in 1896, and I can find Catherine and her family in the 1901 census, at Cwmyoy. There is a Charles Powell at Cwmyoy, but I don't know if it's the right one. And there's no sign of his father Joseph Powell or Berry Cottage. > looks like half of it [Llanvhangel Crucorney] is missing in 1901 Maybe that's why I can't find Berry Cottage there in 1901? Where else can I look -- directories? Dave

    1. [MON] Llanvihangel Crucorney query
    2. Dave Moore
    3. Hi, I am researching the Powell family who lived in Llanvihangel Crucorney in the early 1900s. I have the 1901 marriage certificate of Charles Powell (son of Joseph Powell) which states that he was living at Berry Cottage, Llanvihangel Crucorney, in September 1901. I also have the birth certificate of Charles's son Archibald, which also shows his place of birth as Berry Cottage, Llanvihangel Crucorney, in January 1907. I cannot identify Charles or Joseph in the 1901 census, and when I search the entire Llanvihangel Crucorney entry in that census there is no sign of Berry Cottage. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Maybe Berry Cottage was listed under a different district in 1901? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance. Dave Moore
