    3. Hi Suzanne In 1901 Frederick (who was born in Almondsbury, Gloucestershire in about 1875) was lodging with the Peacock family at 18 St Edward Street, Newport and already working as a police constable. In 1891 he was working as a farmhouse servant for William Pullin and his family at Spaniorum Farm, Berwick Lane, Easter Compton, which still exists, sandwiched between the M5 and the M49 at http://tinyurl.com/2z2n9u . In 1881 he is listed simply as 'Fred England' and living with his parents George and Priscilla at Pound Farm, Almondsbury. George, a farm labourer, was then 32 and his wife 30. In addition to Fred they had Charles 9, Mary 5 and William 1. The whole family were born in Almondsbury. In 1871 George and Priscilla were already married and living in Almondsbury Village with her father, Charles Lovegrove, a 64 year old widower who was born in Longcroft, Berkshire. In 1861 George was living with his parents, Daniel, a potato dealer aged 29, and Ann, aged 30. As well as George there was Edwin 6, Hester 3, Henry 2 and William 1. Daniel, was born in Compton and the rest of the family in Almondsbury. The same year Priscilla was also living in Almondsbury with her parents Charles and Mary. Priscilla was an only child at that time and there were four lodgers in the house, all agricultural labourers like Charles. Hope that helps. 2. Hello Robert, I have who I believe is John and Margaret living alone in Maesteg Glamorgan in 1891, is it only the 1881 Census that you have located them on. If this is them they moved from Plantation Street by the next Census date and in 1891 and 1901 there was no Williams family living at 70 Plantain Street. Regards Barbara

    3. My ancestors on my mother's side are originally from Monmouthshire. I think I have fairly good information on three persons who are supposed to be from the Monmouthsihire area. Jonas Lewis b. 1797 I have a note that Jonas drove a cart at the mine head, but I don't know what that signifies. He didn't work any at mines after coming to Canada. his wife (m. 1825) Prosser, Anna Maria b. 1801-07-26 and their son Lewis, Henry b. 1830 according to my information, they emigrated to Canada via USA in 1832 I'm looking for information resources that I could pursue from home OR resources that my parents could investigate while visiting Wales in May?
