Hi List again Massive Big 'Thank yous' to John who solved my first problem with the BOURNE connection.....Transcribed as BOWNE. Problem two ..... well I did say I had three. I have Stephen Townsend FOWLER born Dec Q 1870 Newport M (11a 164) living at home with his mother in Newport in 1901 Census. Then find him marrying in Dec 1902 Newport M (11a 377) to one of two woman Emma Sarah BUSS or Eliza CLISSETT. There are a number of FOWLER births between 1903 - 1912 but unless I buy all the certificates I don't know who the parents are. ... Stephen did have brothers that would've added to these births. (No census Free Bees here) In 1913, 1915 & 1917 I have three births John FOWLER Sept Q 1913 Newport (11a 505) Mary Winifred FOWLER 14 May 1915 Newport (11a 559) (Certificate Bought) Sydney J FOWLER Dec Q 1917 (11a 416) ... the parents are Stephen Townsend FOWLER and Elizabeth CASEY I know nothing more about Elizabeth CASEY......where she came from, who here parents were etc. I don't find a death that could possibly be the first wife Eliza or Emma Sarah FOWLER and I don't find a marriage for Stephen Townsend FOWLER and Elizabeth CASEY. If I can get hold of the marriage certificate I'm hoping more doors will open to track the CASEY line. Can anyone help me Please. Cya Lynn in Sun Baked Queensland, Australia Sure a real job would be nice, but it would interfere with my genealogy.

I had some information on my great great grandfather joining the South Wales Borderers. I'm just wondering if theres any chance there are records relating to any battles he fought in, his rank etc. I know from family that he move to India c 1903 with his wife and two daughters. He is on the 1901 Census living with his wife in the Brecon Barracks. He also brought back a Zulu shield. I would love to know why he moved to India. Rhiannon

I took a look around and found these for you in case you haven't investigated them. They do look as if they could be yours but don't bank on it. However, IF they are, you could probably get the parents from the BC's. Had no luck with the censuses though. IF you have any more info, I could take another look for you. I have a simple general question that I have failed to find a solution. What is the name of the Roman Catholic Church in Tredegar or the nearest one that would have been used and where should I seek Church records such as Baptisms and Marriages for the years 1845-1880. I have applied for marriage and birth certificates but I am also interested in the Church info. If anyone can field this seemingly simple question it would be appreciated. John Steitz
Hi List I'm needing help with my family research. Plain stuck, stuck stuck. 3Xs stuck with three branches or families of the same tree all in Wales My first problem is: BOURNE family I have the marriage certificate for Isaac Edward CLAYDEN and Mary BOURNE 5 Dec 1914 Newport Monmouthshire. Isaac's side of the family I have chased back to the 1841 census........no problems there. Mary is another story. Here is what I have from the marriage certificate. She is a 19yo Spinster launderer living at 10 Lilleshall Rd, Newport. Father's name George His occupation: Bar cutter at Ironworks. Two witnesses: Edward William BOURNE and Caroline BOURNE. My problem is I don't find Mary BOURNE's birth 1895 anywhere....Wales or England. I don't find any census with Mary BOURNE b abt 1895 that would fit with what I have. I do find in the 1901 and 1891 census in Hampshire a family with Father George William, Mother Caroline and a son Edward William ........ No Mary. George is a gardener on both census. Any thoughts and help would be much appreciated. Thanks Cya Lynn in Sun Baked Queensland, Australia Sure a real job would be nice, but it would interfere with my genealogy.
