Money, 64, passed away at 9:10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at his residence surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer. Ken will always be remembered by family and friends for his love, loyalty, generosity and humor. He was born Oct. 9, 1949, in Vienna, the son of Kenneth T. and Ellen (Haynie) Money. Ken was a 1967 graduate of Mathews High School. Afterwards, he would earn the rank of Staff Sergeant, serving in the Air Force Reserves during the Vietnam War. He was employed by United Telephone and Sprint for 38 years as a lineman, computer analyst, and cellular phone tower technician. Ken was a member of the Mason's Copper Penny Lodge in Vienna. He looked forward to his morning coffee with lifelong friend, Neil Cooper. When he wasn't helping family and friends with home and auto repairs, he would proudly attend his grandchildren's dance and sporting events. Ken enjoyed classic muscle cars, frequenting car shows, and dining at local restaurants with family. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Colleen McElhaney Money; his mother, Ellen Money of Mineral Ridge; his son, Kevin Money and wife Holly of Niles, Ohio; his daughter, Elisha Massaro and husband John of McDonald; his sister, Elaine Harvey and husband John of McDonald; and six grandchildren, Cole, Jules, Brooke, Selene, Launa and Soren. He was preceded in death by his father. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles, Ohio.
