Hello, I am new to your list and would like to post the family I am researching.. Wm. F. Layton married Malvina Briley on 13 Sept. 1842 in Lawrence Co. TN. Their children: Emmily b. 1843 Wm. J. b. 1845 John P. b. 1846 Sarah M. b. 1848 Melissa A. b. 1850 Salene b. 1853 Robert b. 1858 Martha b. 1860 Margaret b. 15 July 1861 Parlee b. 1864 Wm. F. Layton married 2nd. Martha Caroline Larkins, b. 1845 in Crittendon, TN. Married about 1875-6. Their children: Sarah F. b. 1877 Ida. I. 1878 Emma May 29,1880. She was my gr. grandmother. In census records Malvina lists herself as widowed. She must have been hurt tremendously when her husband came home from the Civil War and ended up taking another wife and starting another family.
