I have copies of some pages of the 1910 Newton County census. I noticed that the marital status for married individuals has a number with it. Most have M1 but many have M2. Does anybody know if this means that those with M2 had a prior marriage? I always suspected my elusive Great Grandfather, George W Brown, had a prior marriage. He was almost 40 when he married my Great Grandmother, Cordelia Mason. He's one of the ones with M2. Thanks for any input on this, Linda
