I am researching the following folks and their descendants in Jasper/Newton Counties: Green Nichols, Cherokee, born 1808 GA, disappears between 1850/1860 census in Jasper County and wife Ellen Iseley, born 1813 NC, married Feb.1833 NC, appears on 1860 Newton County Census, married Robert Ames in Newton County 1866, appears on 1870 Cherokee County, KS census. Loose track of her then. Children are: Katherine Nichols Lea, John Nichols, Malichi Nichols, James J. Nichols, Green Nichols, Mary A.E. Nichols, George W. Nichols, Sarah Ellen Nichols Shamblin, Lucinda Jane Nichols Ames Parker, Perry W. Nichols, Rebecca Nichols Brecken. There are Iseley folks near the Nichols on the 1860 Census, and a Jonathan Harris near Malichi on same census. I am trying to connect the relationships of these. John Shilling born 1864, wife Edith Denniston, born 1875, married about 1891. William Wallace, born 1827 IL, wife Rebecca Jane Coffelt, born 1844 MO, married 1861, lived in Newton/Jasper Counties (except during the war), died in Newton, buried in Spring Valley Cemetery. Children are: Emma Wallace Burlingame, John Thomas Wallace, William Franklin Wallace, Pleasant Riley Wallace, Elsie Wallace, Charles Alexander Wallace, Robert James Wallace. Rebecca Coffelt was the daughter of Pleasant Coffelt who also was a resident of Jasper/Newton counties. I do have much to share on all of these folks, but I have holes to fill in. Claire Wichelmann
