I noticed a couple of people researching the DAVIS surname. In the 1870 Newton County census, Granby Township, is my Davis family. William 38 TN Sarah 30 IN Indiana 11 AR Davis S. 8 MO Nancy J. 3 MO Missouri 6mo. MO In 1860, this family was in Benton Co. AR. Indiana married Thomas Burress. They would be my great grandparents. Any further information on this Davis family is more than welcome! Brenda

My Davis's from Fleming Co.,Ky then came to Lawerence , Barry and Newton Co.,Mo in 1870's.
