Alice Fleet Griffin was on the 1910 Newton Co. Mo. census but not on the 1920 Newton Co. Mo. census. She is buried in Burhart Cemetery in Racine, Mo. There is a towbstone with name Alice F. Griffin but no dates. I'm trying to find out what her date of death was. Is their a funeral home in the area near Burkhart Cemetery that is still in bussiness today? I thought maybe they would still have a file on her. Are perhaps is their a Church associated with Burhart Cemetery that might have a record of Alice Fleet Griffin? Thanks, Wanda Todd Bokchito, Ok.
> Do you have an Elba Elliott from Ohio in your line?> No, not that I have heard of. These were from NC and TN. Robert (wife unknown), his son John, and his sons; James and Robert Elliott all were in Newton County in 1850. The women's names were (John's wife); Lucinda, and their daughters; Mary, Hannah, Margaret, Nancy (m. Landon), Serena Appiline(m. Crain). Very interested in GRAHAM. Does anyone have any information on the family of Orange GRAHAM who died in Newton County in the late 1850's. The 1870 Scott, AR census shows his widow, Matilda Graham living next to Sarah Graham (48 IL), believed to be the widow of Hiram Graham (also born IL) who was from Barry County, MO. Family tradition says that Matilda had a sister who had also married a GRAHAM. Were Orange and Hiram brothers? Also interested in descendants of John DILL. His wife, Elizabeth, and Matilda Graham were sisters, both from the RUTLEDGE family. I believe many of the DILL buried at Pierce City might be related, does anyone have any information about them? Another cousin, John S. Williams married Lucy FERREL (or TERREL) in Newton County, MO near Sarcoxie (from a Union pension deposition). Names mentioned in the deposition included Joshua WOODS and (his daughter?) Minerva Woods the wife of Bill WINTERS. Another named mentioned was John CALLISTON. Would be interested in information about any of these families. Thanks, John johndill@ipa.net
My surnames are Whitman, Wolfenbarger, Garner, Nance, Maynard and Laughlin. Jan

I am looking for family history on: BRITTAIN / MACKINDER / HAYNES / NANCE / DUKE / PAUL / PEARL ?
I would be glad to exchange info on McBee. I descend from Penelope Shelton of Claiborne Co. TN, who married Robert Beeler in 1861. They eventually had 15 children, abt. 10 of whom lived past 1900. They moved to Newton Co. MO. abt. 1886 or so and three of the Beeler girls (daughters of Penelope) married McBee. Luta m. John Granville in 1887, Lou Flora m. A. G. in 1888 Sallie m. James Barton in 1887. All 3 filed for citizenship in the Cherokee Nation Indian Territory, starting in 1896 or so, claiming ancestry through their mother (1/4) and their grandfather Ralph Shelton (1/2 Cherokee) All were denied. I am interested mainly in their children and grandchildren. I would also be happy to trade info on Beeler and Shelton. I imagine that was Pryor or Wesley, Granville, Silas etc etc. (I think) I am going on memory right here only, McBee. So far no connection to my McBee's. Jesse McBee, and Susan Elizabeth Rebecca McKinney (Polk county first) were the parents of Catherine McBee, that married Peter H. Montgomery. Catherine and Peter were in Newton Co. for several years and had five children. Peter owned the Seneca Roller Mill for a time.
I noticed a couple of people researching the DAVIS surname. In the 1870 Newton County census, Granby Township, is my Davis family. William 38 TN Sarah 30 IN Indiana 11 AR Davis S. 8 MO Nancy J. 3 MO Missouri 6mo. MO In 1860, this family was in Benton Co. AR. Indiana married Thomas Burress. They would be my great grandparents. Any further information on this Davis family is more than welcome! Brenda
Here are the names I am looking for. I am looking for any information on these families. I am also looking for extended family information. BAILEY, SCHOOLING, STEDMAN/STEADMAN, FOGARTY

My cousins mother was Bobbie Gallemore, I can maybe find out for you?
My turn to contribute to the roll call. We are looking for three things. 1. We are searching for a documented source on the parents Andrew Sparlin (1805-1883), who was an early pioneer in Seneca and Newton County. We think we are familiar with the theories (father was Andrew, father was John, father was Basil and possible siblings - - -William Benjamin, Moses, and Elizabeth). Does anyone know of a documented source? 2. The first wife of Captain Jonathan Buzzard is said to have been Margery Spurgeon. Again the theories abound including that she was related (sister?) to Elizabeth Spurgeon, the first wife of Andrew Sparlin and, therefore, her father was Nathaniel Spurgeon. Does anyone have any information on the Captain's first wife? 3. Another pioneering family in the Seneca area is the Gallemore family (Noah, Frederick, George). George W. Gallemore ( 1848-1918) married Sarah E. (Ella Mae) ( 1853-1942) Graham in 1873 in Newton County. We believe the parents of Ella Mae were Henry and Mary _______ Graham. Here we are really short on documentation and long on theory. Anyone have any information on this branch of the Gallemore family? Lastly through the Spurgeon genealogy group, we have a small mountain of information on the Spurgeon line going back to the 1600's. If there is an interest on anyone's part, we would be glad to try and help. Dick Puz
Guess I'll throw the families I'm researching out there, too! My main Newton County names are: Sammons, McCrary, Bolen, Akers, Beck, Henson and Seales.
