Hello Gale, Most of those census records are sure hard to read. Try Billhimer and see if you come up with anything. Is there a connection between your Adkins and Frosts? What time frame were they in Newton County? My Frost hooked up with Adkins and later Ashcraft in the Cass/Bates counties area in the 1830's and 40's and came to Barry County in 1846. Believe others, at least the Adkins, settled in Newton County? They had a propensity for the reuse of Wyatt and Owen as given names because both (as surnames) previously intermarried with Adkins. I'll have to check my records This is my husband's family line. My Brown's are originally from Daviess County >Mercer Co >Washington Co, AR > Newton Co. My great grandfather was George Washington Brown, son of John Andrew (VA)and Nancy Ninemires (OH) Brown. GW was born 1848 in Daviess Co, MO. He married Cordelia Mason abt 1885 (probably in Mercer Co). How or why he was in Mercer Co is unknown. GW was 37 years old when he married Cordelia - I'd sure like to know what he was doing before that. In the early 1900's GW packed up his family and left Mercer Co and went to Washington Co, AR. They farmed there until about 1907 when they sold out and moved to the Granby area of Newton Co. GW died there in 1914. My grandfather William Andrew Brown was about 14 years old when they moved to Granby. He married Dena White and they lived the rest of their lives there. GW is very elusive. Both his parents died by 1858 and I haven't found him in any census since 1850 when he was 2 years old. I am going to have to haunt the court houses in MO and AR looking for some trace of him.
