James is said to have had 2 brothers. James was court judge for New Madrid District and County 1842-1848 and Sheriff & Collector/Assessor 1844-1846, New Madrid. James was 1/2 owner of the steamboat Talma which hit a snag and was lost near New Madrid 1848. We think he died in the accident. Anything on these two would be appreciated.
