It is possible that the name has changed over the years. There are no Baumans noted in the inscription book but I believe it is probable that the family was actually named Bowman. While he is indexed as Bauman the handwriting could just as easily be read as Bowman. The 1910 census lists Arthur Bowman with parents J.L./Aggie and siblings including Roscoe. This family is also listed as Bowman on the 1920 census. Found a Roscoe Bowman of the correct age and the death cert for a J.L. Bowman (d.10/6/1951 widowed, informant Roscoe Bowman) both buried in Mounds Cemetery. Agnes Bowman d.2/5/1930 Butler County, informant J.L. Bowman.
