Born March 12, 1921, in Greenwood, Miss., son of the late Hugh and Channie Mae Brown Green, he was a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in New Madrid. His wife, Dorothy Ross Green, died April 5, 1998. Survivors include: three daughters, Sammie Robinson and Channie Hoskins of New Madrid and Deloris Word of Columbia; four sons, Anaise Green Jr. of New Madrid, Willie Eddie Green and Joe Lewis Green of Okeechobee, Fla., and Fred Grant of Columbia; one sister, Minnie Johnson of Downers Grove, Ill.; and 17 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters and five brothers also preceded him in death. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Friday at Richards Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Leotis Akins, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
