    1. Re: [MONEWMAD] Lilbourn A. Lewis (1843--1934)
    2. This is probably just a coincidence of names, but my husbands family moved from Big Sandy TN to the New Madrid area. Luraney Snider married Lewis G Matheny on 1 Feb 1863. On the Benton Co Tn census for 1880, she is listed as head of house. Apparently Lewis G. died between 1870-1874. Youngest child, listed as her daughter is 6 years of age, and named Luraney Lewis. I have wondered what the connection could be, since Luraney is still going by Matheny. ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, April 27, 2008 11:53 AM Subject: Re: [MONEWMAD] Lilbourn A. My gr grandfather was John Richard Lewis, born in 1863 in MO or CO. His father, who's name I am trying to find out, was from KY according to the Census. John married my gr, grandmother, Sarah Frances Snider, in Dunklin Co., MO in 1900. I have not been able to find any of John Lewis's family. I know that Dunklin, Stoddard and Pemiscot Counties all used to be New Madrid until they were made into counties themselves and wondered if he might be connected to your Lewis's. He may have been married before going by his age when he married my gr grandmother. Thanks. Charlotte [email protected] Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
