She was born June 18, 1937, in New Madrid County, Missouri, to the late Lacy and Earlene (West) Polk. Surviving are her children, Bettye Coffee, Tommy Kelley, Linda Dear, Edward Foster, Ray (Paula) Foster, Annette Foster, Dwyane Foster, and Corey (Deann) Foster, all of Fostoria, Ohio and Owen (Linda) Foster of Berea; 20 grandchildren, Marcus (Gwen) and Juanita (Neil) Coffee, Anita Foster, Ortiz Dear, James (Bobby) Foster, Brandi Foster, Ray Foster II, Devin Gamble, Dennis Gamble, Janelle Runion, Ashley Davis, Samantha Foster, Lucas Foster, La Tasha Foster, Taylor Mulligan, Dwyane Foster Jr., Ryan Foster, Michael Foster, Anthony Foster, and Chelsea Marshall; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Greg Foster; daughter, Inez Smith; and two grandchildren, LaTonya Foster, and Peyton Gamble. Allene had worked at the cookie factory in Van Buren, and retired from both Copeland Corp., Fostoria, Ohio with 20 years of service, and Fostoria Industries with 10 years of service. She most enjoyed fishing, cooking, listening to blues music, and spending time with her family. Visitation will take place noon-1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria. Funeral services will be at the funeral home beginning at 1 p.m. with Apostle Derek Morant officiating. Interment will be private and will take place at Fountain Cemetery.
