Previously, I had seen some of these but not all. Giving credit to the Farm Bureau for these photos may be in error, however, as I believe they were produced in connection with the USDA Farm Security Administration, a forerunner to the Farmers Home Administration. I worked for the FHA in New Madrid in the 1950s. ( I believe this agency now has a new name.) Your sharing is a godsend to historians as well as to genealogists. My book about New Madrid from its beginnings to the start of the 20th century was published in 2009 and I am working on another. So, again, thanks. I'm looking for anyone who might know more about the following two families that lived in the Saint John area of New Madrid County. I'm specifically looking for a Margaret ENGLAND who married someone named ROBINSON / ROBERTSON. His name might have been Montgomery or Berry Robinson. They married around 1865 in New Madrid. ROBINSON / ROBERTSON The Robinson families appeared to arrive New Madrid about 1860 from Davidson County, TN. The patriarch was most likely an Amos ROBINSON/ROBERTSON born 1790 NC. His wife was named Elizabeth, b. 1805 SC. Some their children were born in TN and others in AL or SC: Richard, John, Montgomery, and Julia. There are likely more children. ENGLAND Margaret England was born about 1840 in either MO or TN. She is the daughter of Aletha / Abby, who was born 1816 KY. Aletha/Abby's maiden name is unknown but she died after 1880 in Saint John. Margaret's father is unknown. The family may have arrived New Madrid about 1860 from Gibson County TN. Margaret may have had the following siblings: Daniel, Joseph, and Isaac. Many of these people died in Saint John, New Madrid prior to 1910 and therefore I cannot find their death records in the MO online database. Does anyone know if death records prior to 1910 are available online or elsewhere? Thanks in advance, Rick Wilson New York, NY
