Author: TheresaRGriffiths Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.newmadrid/839.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Your welcome. Keep in mind though Josie parents may very well be Bill Mosley and Jennie Stohling. Sometimes things wrote in a Bible are wrong and also death certificates and obits are sometimes wrong. People put down things they do know and sometimes what they think they know. You'll need to find the marriage date for Josie's parents and ask some elders questions about what the Bible shows as her father. Maybe Josie's mother had her out of wedlock and then married Jim HAWKINS. Or maybe Jim was somewhere else and Jennie took up will Bill. In doing a family tree you need to prove everything as much as you can. And to find the truth about Josie you need to ask and search around about all the surnames and keep posting on surname and County State message boards. I would think if Bill is in the Bible as Josie Father I would sure look into it. Best of luck. Theresa Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. It is possible that the name has changed over the years. There are no Baumans noted in the inscription book but I believe it is probable that the family was actually named Bowman. While he is indexed as Bauman the handwriting could just as easily be read as Bowman. The 1910 census lists Arthur Bowman with parents J.L./Aggie and siblings including Roscoe. This family is also listed as Bowman on the 1920 census. Found a Roscoe Bowman of the correct age and the death cert for a J.L. Bowman (d.10/6/1951 widowed, informant Roscoe Bowman) both buried in Mounds Cemetery. Agnes Bowman d.2/5/1930 Butler County, informant J.L. Bowman.
