    3. Dennis, Just guessing, mind you... trying to stir up a little trouble. Currituck Deed Book 3 records that William (John's brother) sold his plantation (recorded April 5, 1737) to Isaac Davis for 100 pounds. "current money of North Carolina." The deed describes the land as "160 acres being the plantation and tract of land where-on said William Muncrief lately lived -- South Side of North-West River, beginning at the River Pequosen, running along by Thomas Muncrief, to Daniel Glasco Jno. to land formerly belonging to John Muncrief. This document makes it clear that John, youngest of the three sons of John, (the first American Moncrief), had sold somehow disposed of his land sometime before. The document doesn't indicate what happened to him. He may have died; he could have bought another plantation; OR he may have gone to Charleston to become a founder of the Charleston Moncriefs. Sure would be neat if they were tied together as (otherwise) John just disappears from the face of the earth! John John, I have been trying to hook this SC branch up tp the NC or Va branch and am not having much luck. Have a little on the SC branch of Moncriefs. Dennis
