    3. Hi Moncrief's, I have just had the nicest talk for the past 45 minutes with a California Moncrief who submitted the original Thomas material to LDS. It was unsubstantiated then and still is. He got his information from Sir Ian Moncrieffe before his death and through two other noted seachers. He has loads of supporting information on John. I mentioned seeing records for Moncrief's in the 1200's and he suggested that if I followed then down I would eventually connect. That is a possibility. He said that 3 Moncrief's came over and this is where we get our Charleston, Currituck and New England lines. He doesn't think we went to Ireland but we can't discount any possibilities. He read me from some of his books. He quoted the following: Abstracts of North Carolina Wills by Grimes. (John and Mary's will is in this one) Colonial Records of NC by William Saunderson. Virginia Historical Indexes. Cavaliers and Pioneers by Nugent Virginia Land Grants. According to this researcher John came over on May 8, 1674. This one has been to Scotland and even called there doing research. Looks like we need to dig in and get to work. It appears that we need to find new ties. I am going to do some of this support reading. We had a most interesting ancestor. Sylvia __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo!
