X-Envelope-To: MONCRIEF-L Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sorry if I'm reposting, but I haven't seen this one come across the server, and no responses, so.... ----- Original Message ----- From: moncrief To: MONCRIEF-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, March 28, 2000 12:13 PM Subject: Revolution! Good morning! I've recently met an exceedingly pleasant gentleman, a Mr. Richard Burnett, who is a grandson of Stephen Price Moncrief (son of Stephen Jefferson Moncrief). He is quite the Revolutionary War devotee and has recently made application to the DAR listing Raiford Moncrief Ragsdale as his ancestor who served in the Revolutionary War. Mr. Burnett has not, heretofore, been actively involved in genealogy, but now seems genuinely excited about "discovering" his roots, and I'd like to help him with his application. I believe there are several other family members he might rather submit (or append his application with), but wonder if someone might have more complete information for him than I do... As I recall, William Alexander and Elizabeth Simmons Moncrief had four sons (William Alexander, Sampson, Caleb and Josiah) who served in the Rev. War (Continental Line). Am I correct, and does anyone on the list have proof they are willing to share to help out a cousin? Thanks, John A. Moncrief --part1_b0.324106d.26153a7c_boundary--
