I know its been quite a long time since I've been on here and I can't remember if I tried to contact you before or not, but I sure would like any info you have on the Turpin clan. Was there a Cherokee or Native American connection there? My grandmother, Josephine Hammons Stowell's mother was Laura Turpin and I was told all during my growing up that she had Cherokee blood. From the pictures Laura looks as if she could have 3/4 and my grandmother 1/2. Josephine's mother Laura was the second wife of Charles Franklin Hammons, who had been married to Viola her sister, who died and they had two children together, Matthew and Myrtle May.
