Hi, I am trying to find out if it is possible to send for some official paperwork from Morgan Co, 1. Thomas Exley Hodges (son of Abel Hodges and Jane Wilson Caudel) was born Aug 20, 1846 in Morgan county. Would there be any birth records for that time period. If so what would they be like. 2. He married Sarah Elizabeth Wininger (not born in MO. on Oct. 7, 1872 in Forest City Mo. I do not know what county Forest City is in. Would there be any official records of this? 3. He purchased land in Millcreek Townshi on Jan 18, 1856 and sold that land on Aug 1, 1865. How would I get a copy of this deed and and the sale? Forest City is in Holt County, MO http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forest_City,_Missouri You can also contact the county court house to get copies of the records in Morgan County: Morgan County Courthouse 100 East Newton Street Versailles, Missouri 65084 (573) 378-5436 I dont think they will have any birth records for that time.
