My notes on William. My maternal line includes Larimore through Richard Larimore Greenstreet, a Civil War veteran. CENSUS--1840, Morgan Co., Missouri. Rachel Larimore, wife of Richard Larimore and mother of Zippora Larimore Greenstreet, resided with them. She was about 70 years old. !CENSUS--1860 Morgan Co., Missouri, Mill Creek Township--Rachel Larimorer, 83, b. IN, still living with Joseph Williams and wife Rachel, 47, b. KY. (B. 1773). !MIGRATION--His family came to St. Louis area of Missouri about 1800. His father (unnamed) owned a farm in St. Louis Co. Joseph married Rachel Larimore in Franklin Co., Missouri on 15 May 1832. He and family moved to Morgan Co., Missouri about 1843 and settled on a 40 acre farm on Little Richland Creek south of Syracuse. [Source: Ron Learrymore E-mail, 1999, quoting a Jim Williams. He also "gophered" for lead. !MILITARY--All but one young son fought for the Union in the Civil War. !DEATH--About 01 March 1894. He was buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery (behind Baptist Church) on 03 March 1894. Burial: "I made a pilgrimage today. Mt Carmel Church and Cemetery is 6.6 Miles South of Syracuse, Morgan Co. Mo On Route D. I found what appears as a replacement Tombstone That say's Joseph William B. 1812 D. 3/1/1894. Other Williams Graves in the area. Will follow up when I have time to get back.
