MO John D Otten, 50, states he has consumption Mary A, 44 Cordelia, 17 (married John W Kurtz 14 Jan 1885) Rachel, 20 James, 15 (m Lily Bowman, James d 13 Mar 1950) Liddy, 12 (Lydia) Molly, 10 Sulie, 7 (Ursalia) Peter A, 5 1900 census, Versailles, Morgan CO, MO Mary Otten, 63, widowed, 9 children born, 5 living Charles H, 43 Cordelia Kurtz, 37, dau, widowed Elmer Otten, 24 Nora Kurtz, 14 Rebecca Kurtz, 9 Rachel Kurtz, 8 Hannah Otten, 19, grand dau (which son's child is this?) I found a MO death certificate for Chas Otten, b 21 Sep 1856 in Florence, MO, d 17 May 1941 KC General Hospital, KC, Jackson CO, MO. Widowed, wife's name Mary. Parnets names Unknown, birthplaces of parents Unknown. Buried in Versailles, MO, information John Otten. Possibly/probably this is Charles H Otten. I looked for a death certificate for Cordelia Otten Kurtz, did not find on on the MO birth/death website for Cordelia Kurtz. Found death certificate for James Marion Otten, b 28 Aug 1865, d 13 Mar 1950, Versailles. s/o Dedrick Otten, no record of mother, married to Lily Bowman Otten, information Lily Otten. Found death certificate for Lillie Bowman Otten, b 14 Jan 1873, d 14 Jun 1951, Versailles, d/o F K Bowman & Alcinda Moomaw, informant Jim Otten. So, in 1900, 4 of the 5 living children of John Deitrich & Mary Ann Reed were Charles H, Cordelia, Elmer, and James M. Wanted to share this information with you, which you might already have, but you were so helpful with information you provided to me I wanted to send you information I have recently found.
