I am related to some of the families you mention but there is some proof lacking on my end. However, I know the names. The Silveys were neighbors to some of my ancestors as were the Marriotts. Rosa's maternal grandparents were Miles Leonard Ritchie and Rebecca Marriott. I'll have to dig and find who Rebecca's parents were. As to the Silveys, the neighbors to my ancestors James C and Elizabeth Brooks Moore were William Martin Silvey and his wife Prudence Marriott who married in Roane Co TN. Prudence Marriotts brother Edgecomb Marriott was a neighbor to another set of my grandparents Jesse P Rains and his wife Elizabeth who we believe was also a Marriott. Their oldest daughter's name was Prudence Rains and their son William H Rains married Amanda Moore, eldest daughter if James and Elizabeth Brooks Moore who were neighbors of Wm Martin and Prudence Marriott Silvey. Feel free to contact me at my email: [email protected] I have much more that might help. Steve Riggan Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I know its been quite a long time since I've been on here and I can't remember if I tried to contact you before or not, but I sure would like any info you have on the Turpin clan. Was there a Cherokee or Native American connection there? My grandmother, Josephine Hammons Stowell's mother was Laura Turpin and I was told all during my growing up that she had Cherokee blood. From the pictures Laura looks as if she could have 3/4 and my grandmother 1/2. Josephine's mother Laura was the second wife of Charles Franklin Hammons, who had been married to Viola her sister, who died and they had two children together, Matthew and Myrtle May. This is about all I know of that part of the family! Thank you for info you can provide! Jeanine Stowell Cockrell Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. - This mail is in HTML. Some elements may be ommited in plain text. - Hello, My regrets for this sudden request & I really hope you get this fast, I could not inform anyone about our trip, because it was impromptu. we had to be in Manila, Philippines for a program. The program was successful, but our journey has turned sour. we misplaced our wallet and cell phone on our way back to the hotel we lodge in after we went for sight seeing. The wallet contained all the valuables we had.It was a terrible experience but the good thing is they didn't hurt anyone or made away with our passports. We have reported the incident to the local authorities and the consulate but their response was too casual, we were ask to come back in 2weeks time for investigations to be made proper,But the truth is we can't wait till then, as we have just got our return flight booked and is leaving in few hours from now but presently having problems sorting out our bills here and also getting a cab down to the airport, Right now we're financially strapped due to the unexpected robbery attack, Wondering if you can help us with a quick loan to sort our bills and get back home. All we need is ($1,650.00 USD) or anything you can afford, I promise to refund you in full as soon as I return hopefully tomorrow or next. write back now to let me know what you can do. Thanks so much, Marsha
