She was born the daughter of John Henry Albers and his wife, Mary, nee Witte, in Stover, Missouri. Already in her infancy she was a child of God by Holy Baptism, being baptized in Trinity Lutheran Church, near Stover, Missouri. In April, 1889, she confirmed her baptismal covenant in the rite of Confirmation, also in Trinity Lutheran Church, near Stover, Missouri. Theodore William Heimsoth became her companion for life in Holy Matrimony on October 19th, 1902, again in Trinity Lutheran Church, near Stover, Misouri. This union our Lord blessed with eight children, three boys, and five girls. In 1916 she moved out west with her husband and her family, and settled near Optima, Oklahoma. She has lived there for the past forty-six years, diligently performing her duties as a farmer's wife and a Christian mother. During the early years of her residency in the Optima community, she was a communicant member of Ebenezar Lutheran Church, in Optima. Later, when this congregation was dissolved, she became a communicant member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Guymon, Oklahoma, in which church she has been a faithful member until her death. She leaves behind, to mourn her passing, six children: Walter of the home, Mrs Leona Gerdsen of Canyon, Texas, Albert of Optima, Mrs Alma Wright of Optima, Helen and Viola of the home. Her brother, William Albers of the home, and her sister Emma Albers of Wathena, Kansas, also mourn her passing. Her husband, Theodore William Heimsoth preceded her in death in 1944. Two children, an infant son at the age of four days, and Mrs. Lydia Cornelsen, just this year, preceded her in death. In addition, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and other relatives are left behind. Mrs. Bettie Heimsoth's best known quality was the ability to work hard, and to constantly keep on the go; yet she was never too busy to regularly hear God's Word in her church, and to help others in her community. "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me, Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me." The John Henry Albers who married Mary Witte is my great great step granddad. My great grandfather took his step-dad's name, giving me the maiden name of Albers. Just recently, I discovered what my real last name was. Before John married Mary, he was prieviously married to my great great grandmother, Sophia Meinz. She arrived from Fahrendorf, Germany on the bark "Eliza Thorton" On Oct 30, 1845. In 1850, she was living with her sister, Caroline and brother-in-law John J. Wilshusen. She married first,(bet. 1850-1852)Henry Kottkemeyer, who died May 5, 1853, leaving Sophia a poor widow with one young son, John, and another on the way. Sophia was wed to Hermann Koehler June 15, 1853. My great grandfather, Heinrich Dietrick, was born with this step-father on Nov 18, 1853. Just a month after his third birthday, Henry D got his third father, when Sophia married John Henry Albers on Dec 23, 1856. John and Sophia had a number of children together. The dates imply that Christ/Christian may actually have been Koehler's child, yet born after Sophia and John were married. Hi, I am trying to find out if it is possible to send for some official paperwork from Morgan Co, 1. Thomas Exley Hodges (son of Abel Hodges and Jane Wilson Caudel) was born Aug 20, 1846 in Morgan county. Would there be any birth records for that time period. If so what would they be like. 2. He married Sarah Elizabeth Wininger (not born in MO. on Oct. 7, 1872 in Forest City Mo. I do not know what county Forest City is in. Would there be any official records of this? 3. He purchased land in Millcreek Townshi on Jan 18, 1856 and sold that land on Aug 1, 1865. How would I get a copy of this deed and and the sale? The publisher is to be in Morgan County sometime in March when the book will be layed out, it is not all proof read at this time. Many volunteer hours have gone into this project. Perhaps a more definite time schedule when the book will be done will be given when he comes in March.
