I am looking for the location of Minnow Branch School, which is now gone. It was located in the W part of Buffalo T, probably very close to Shiloh Cemetery. Here is a map of that area: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=38.30556,+-93.07275+%28Coordinates%29&iwloc=A&hl=en Mike

I am a great, great granddaughter of Harrison Gard through daughter Sarah Elette (Gard) & Daniel Mock. I have been researching them for many, many years and would love to compare research. You can contact me at [email protected],com_ (mailto:[email protected],com) Ruby In a message dated 3/26/2015 8:51:50 P.M. US Mountain Standard Time, [email protected] writes: This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: rsmich90 Surnames: Gard Watts Mock Cook Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.m organ/1338/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Am researching to see if my gg-grandmother, Polly Ann Gard (b. 1841 IL), is the daughter of Harrison Gard and Serena Cook. Polly Ann married Enoch Watts (b. 1834 IN) in Sangamon County in October 1855. My circumstantial evidence: 1) An 1855 Illinois state census (July 1855) shows an H. Gard living in Mechanicsburg, Sangamon County, IL with one boy under 10 (W. Christopher Gard, b. 1855? or Sherman David Gard, b. 1844?), one male 40-50 (H. Gard), 2 females under 10 (Sara Elettie Gard, b. 1846 in Sangamon Co.; Lucinda Gard, b. 1853 in Sangamon Co.), 1 female 10-20 (Polly Ann?), and one female age 40-50 (Serena Cook Gard). 2) Polly Ann and Enoch Watts had two sons, James H. Watts (b. 1856 IL) and Charles S. Watts (my great-grandfather, b. 1859 Salisbury, IL). One of James' sons was named James Harrison Watts. My theory is that the H. in the father's name was for Polly Ann's father because the James was for Enoch's father, James Watts. Then, James named his son James Harrison, continuing the name for another generation. 3) Polly Ann and Enoch disappear after the 1860 census, but their boys show up (and grow up/marry) in or near Morgan County, MO where Harrison Gard eventually settled and died. In the 1870 census, there is a Daniel and Sarah (Gard) Mock in Richland, Morgan County, MO. Living with them is a Laura E. Watts (b. 1860, IL). Laura may have been a daughter born to Polly Ann and Enoch after the 1860 census was taken that showed their only children were their two sons. Would love to collaborate with anyone else researching Harrison Gard and family. Would especially like to know if anyone has found an obituary for either Harrison or Serena Gard. I know my grandparents had one on a colored form with flowers and different things but I think their church provided it. I'm not sure if I'm helping any and may not be answering your question. Or if you prefer you can write to Morgan County Recorder, 100 East Newton, Versailles, MO 65084 for a copy. It has been awhile since I was there but last time the copies were 50 cents each.
