I understand he was an Old School Baptist Minister and that he pastored Big Rock Church from 1893 - 1900. I am an Old School Baptist historian and would love to have any information about him that you have. I have several books of biographies of ministers and he was never in any of them. I have a short history of Big Rock Church that lists him as one of the pastors, but until reading your post I didn't even know what the intials, "J. L. C." stood for. I would appreciate any help you could provide. Thank you, Stephen Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The only Larimore I know anything about is Rachel Larimore who married Joseph Williams in Morgan Co. Her father was Richard and mother Rachel. Could tell you J and R descendents. I'll send the first 12 results to see if they match, which I "think" they should if Robert Webb or Robert Alexander Webb were the fathers. If those match I can send the other 25. There is only one other person who matches 37/37 and only one who matches 36/37 so far. They match my Webbs to a Joseph Webb b.1777 in PA. By the way, which lab did the testing on those DNA studies you have compared, and was one of the donors you? Also was it 12, 24, 37 or 67? If we match at the 12 level, I'd love it if you would share your results. Also it might be of interest to you that there is an Edith Farr married to a Francis John Webb b. 1879 in Utah on one of the Webb family trees who matched on 11 of the first 12 of my DNA sample. Does this ring a bell with any of your Farr genealogy? Here's the results of the first 12: 393 13 390 24 19 14 391 11 385a 11 385b 14 426 12 388 12 439 13 389 1 13 392 13 389 2 29 Hope this helps you or anyone else. Please get back with me. We need more DNA testing so we can have a bigger pool and connect the dots to help find our ancestors. Laura Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My DNA donor was my first cousin, son of my mother's brother. My oldest known Webb descendant is Isaac Webb, father of Jesse Webb (my 2nd great grandfather), Robert Alexander Webb, Francis Marion Webb and 7 other children. Robert Alexander and Francis Marion were Jesse's brothers, and were my 2nd great grand uncles, and were also the DNA donor's 2nd great grand uncles. The DNA was done by Family Tree DNA, and is posted on the WEBB DNA website. If you have access, you can compare all your DNA results with mine. If not, you could post your e-mail and I'll be glad to send the DNA results to you. I have many gaps in Francis Marion, Nancy Ann and their children's information, and hope you can share some information with me. Later. I am anxious to find out about the DNA comparison. Let me know if you want me to send you my DNA results. Laura Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. According to the Williams cemetery books: Salem cemetery is located about 6 miles west of Versailles and 2 miles east of Stover, Mo. on a gravel road just off Hwy 52. The Church is no longer there and the cemetery is not cared for very well. A.G.Baker's 1905 History of Morgan county states on page 41: Salem has no pastor and has done very little work during the last few years. This church is located six miles west of Versailles and the congregation has a good building." Dorothy and Bill Williams visited the cemetery 10 March 1994 and copied the inscriptions and noted in which row each visible grave was located. The cemetery was not hard to get to and was in better shape than we expected I have the cemetery books and would be glad to do look-ups. The following surnames are listed in the cemetery (if interested let me know and I'll copy the info for any you want) Abney (2) Argenbright (1) Collier (1) Cooley (2) Duncan (1) Huff (3) Hughes (1) Jones (1) Marriott (9) Rowland (2) Rutherford (1) Soey (1) Sperschander (1) Todd (1) Wilson (2) ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, June 30, 2010 2:20 PM Subject: [MOMORGAN] Salem Church Cemetery > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: jdenny309 > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.morgan/1298/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > Might someone have information on name and location of the Salem Church > Cemetery, which is supposedly located approx 5 miles west of Versailles, > Morgan County, MO? Francis Marion webb and Nancy Ann Moore had three children (Rutha,John, and Robert). Rutha died as a child and John and Robert lived part time with their uncles. They both are listed as living with Nancy Ann Moore Webb Farr in the 1880 census. I can trace John until his death but Robert went to California sometime in the late 1880's or early 1890's and presumably died at a young age. I "suspect" that Robert or his uncle Alex may have fathered some Farr's. I have four different DNA results that might prove/disprove this if I can compare to a descendant of Robert Alex or his father. Please contact me.
