King and at least one of his sons were reportedly on different sides of the Civil War." His son, John born about 1841 was a Confederate soldier and survived the war. John P. King died in 1891 so if he was in the war he also survived. John P. King's last son, Thomas was born in Wellsville in 1864. Any family history/articles of interest would be appreciated. I read that the Union troops moved into Wellsville, making it a Union "base" until the end of the war even though Missouri was a neutral state at the beginning of the war. Any Civil War buffs out there?
