Gill (b. 1 Jan 1878) said that she was 28 at first marriage, so they m. in 1906. (Her obit on the page above says they m. in 1927.) Their first son was b. 1907. Louis E. Gill was enumerated as divorced in 1920 and 1930. I haven't been able to find Mattie and the boys in 1920; in 1930, Mattie was in Seattle with her two sons, L. Presley, 23, and Francis W., 18, and was enumerated as a widow. (The 1930 census also says that Louis E. was 24 at first marriage, which would have been abt 1893, before his marriage to Mattie Wald.) --> I was acquainted with the younger L. Presley Gill (1907-1987) in Seattle in 1972-73. He was retired from practice by then but was a prominent labor lawyer.
