Thomas Swearingen is on the 1840 census in Montgomery County, Lower Loutre Twp, p. 209. Assuming that the kids on the 1850 with Frances Swearingen were also on the 1840 with Thomas Swearingen, then -- 2 FWM <5 --> John and Andrew 2 FWM 5-10 --> Thomas and Unk son 1 FWM 30-40 --> Thomas 1 FWF <5 --> Lydia 1 FWF 10-15 --> Unk dau, prob b. abt 1831 and already married by 1850 1 FWF 30-40 --> Judith The oldest female, presumably Thomas's wife, was too old to be Frances, who would have been about 22 in 1840, so I assume she was Judith, b. 19 Nov 1801. Andrew was 9 on the 1850 census, so was b. 1840 or '41, presuming his age is correct on the 1850, and might have been born before the 1840 census -- I don't know when census day was in 1840; the schedule doesn't give enumeration date. > I know this is not your line, so you might not have any data on them, > and if this is the case, can you put me in touch others researching this > Swearingen line?
