I will get an email off to you right away. David
Would anyone have any information about the 3-4 James HAYS living in Upper Loutre Twp, Montgomery Co., MO between 1830 and 1860? Two James Hays appear in the 1830 Census - one in the 60-70 year class and another in the 30-40 year class. On the same page is a Samuel (year class 30-40) and a John (40-50 year class). In 1840, two James (adults) and two Samuels (adults)(I believe they are juniors and seniors in both cases - note the word at the end of each name) appear on the same page. A James in the 90-100 year class appears two pages later. I assume that the middle age James and the younger are the same James that appear in 1850 (ages are a little mixed up). I can't find these Hays in the 1870 census. My interest is that Evan BUCHANAN appears on the same pages as the younger James in the 1850 Census, then on the following pages is James the middle with his daughter (assumption), Penina. Evan's son, Felix, marries Penina sometimes within the next year or two. She dies between 1860 and 1865. That is about all I know of her. I would be pleased to exchange information with anyone who know about this Hays family. Chet
