Would some kind person please tell me which township Montgomery City citizens would have been recorded on the 1870 US Census? Thank you. Mary in Alaska
I assume that they would be in Montgomery Township, at least according to the 1897 Standard Atlas. Could some to the south be in the Danville Township? I don't have the information right in front of me, but after the 1870 census, 1871/72 another township was created, and Montgomery City was included in the new township. So there isn't any missing 1870 townships in the census. I think it was taken from what is now Upper Loutre- Betty ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chester Buchanan" <chetbuchanan@charter.net> To: <MOMONTGO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 30, 2006 5:57 PM Subject: Re: [MOMONTGO] Montgomery City > I assume that they would be in Montgomery Township, at least according to the 1897 Standard Atlas.
