If not, I will try to get to the Montgomery County Genealogical Society library and see if I can find one. One of our members has published an index of obituaries and marriages that would help us. If we have the right microfilm of the Montgomery Standard, I will be able to get the obit. It may take me a while as the Library is only open certain times.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZKB.2ACE/392.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi again! Actually I think we do have the same one. From my research I've found out that the Ernest I was looking for later married a Mary and had the children John and Jeff you mentioned; the only thing I know about them though is what you've told me, other than their obituaries. One of Ernest's sons (my grandfather's half brother) is actually about the same age as my father. Ernest died in 1983, in Montgomery County. Will you ask your mother if that sounds like the same person? I don't even know if Ernest's second family knew about the first one, because like I said before my grandfather never tried to contact his father after he left. Thanks again for helping me put these pieces together! It means so much to me. Best, Christina

Farnen, and operated by J.B. McKissick. The elevator was sold to Mr. Perry Compton. The elevator was later abandoned, and the ownership reverted to the Katy railroad, which is now defunct.

I believe he lived much of his life in Montgomery County. I'm not sure about his parents, but believe he lived with his grandfather in 1850. I believe his grandfather was James Davis and his grandmother was Jemima Hays. Any information on him, his family and especially his parents would be appreciated.

If your grandfather was about that age, was he the same Ernie? I would be happy to correspond. There are other Longs in Montgomery County.

I am the grandaughter of Ernest's first son from a previous marriage. My maiden name is Christina Long. My grandfather (Ernest Louis Long, but went by Ernest) was born in 1919 and passed away in 2002. He didn't know what became of Ernest after he left (my grandfather was about 10 at the time) and I am now trying to put these pieces together. If you would be willing, I would love to contact you further regarding this. Thank you very much for your time and help!

They had two children--John and Jeff. Jeff is dead but he had married Diana Falloon and had one child who is now in his thirties, married, and I think with one child. The last I heard of John was at his mother's death. She also died in Montgomery City. I think John was in Illinois at the time. Mary's maiden name was Sailor, if that helps. Diana Falloon Long is slightly younger than I (I am 60.) How do you fall in the tree?

    3. I think the original one is gone now. It was in N Bear Creek township, on Bear Creek. It was organized in 1837. I don't have an exact location for it. I think the one you are talking about is this one SE of Bellflower: http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=38.97361&lon=-91.31861&datum=NAD27&s=50&size=l This existing one seems to fit the description of the one from 1837, so maybe they were in the same general area.
