(This building is the one I attended grade school in from 1947 to 1955.) I don't know when this building was turned over to the grade school and the "later" high school building was built next to this one.

    1. 1876 court case Henze vs. St. Louis, KC & Northern RR
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ZKB.2ACE/407 Message Board Post: I am researching a court case from the 1870s. The case Lena Henze vs. St. Louis, Kansas City & Northern Railway Company was moved from Montgomery County to Audrain County. The trial began 30 Sept 1876 with jurors S.M. Donley, B.F. Trear, G.A. Donnell, S.C. Hill, RI Freeman (foreman), Jna Allen, B. Whately, R.D. Alexander, T. Morsan, M. Dulanny, E.T. Mings and C.P. Writee. Lena's husband Fred and young son Henry (returning home to Loutre Township in a farm wagon) were hit and killed by a train at a crossing in Jonesburg. The train, an empty unscheduled one, issued no whistle or warning sign. Henze apparently did not see or hear the train. The jury found in favor of the widow and awarded her $5000 for each death. The railway company appealed and the case went to the MO Supreme Court where in 1880 it was remanded and compromised. I have yet to locate the records relating to the compromise or any newspapers covering the case. Does anyone know of any existing newspapers from that! time period? Thanks, Pam Eagleson Kennebunk ME

A few yearbook pictures, etc. I would be happy to scan and send them once Ms. Diana Falloon's and Jeff's permission is given. Good Luck! Ms. Reagan- If you and Christina are able to verify that this is indeed the same Ernest Long, and if you are still of mind to contact Ms. Falloon on her behalf, of course; I can follow whatever directive Ms. Falloon would like regarding the above mentioned photos. At that point, though....should they connect, their families will have MANY more pictures than my silly ole' yearbook!! ;-) I can watch your posts with Ms. Tucker for further word. Christine H

    1. William Davis
    2. George
    3. Does anyone on the list have a connection to a William DAVIS who died in Monroe Co 19 Nov 1883? He was 77. According to the 1880 census he had a daughter Margaret DAVIS and a grandson Wm RONEY. He fits the profile of a brother to my 2g gf Jarrett but I can't be sure. I would like to determine who his parents were. George

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZKB.2ACE/392.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi again Jo Ann, Thank you so much for your offer. I had not even thought about the possibility of meeting some relatives, but I would love to do so if they would be interested. If you are willing to contact Mrs. Falloon Long, it would be incredibly kind. As you noted, you may want to use a little discretion; as I said in an earlier post, I'm not even sure they know about my side of the family and I would not ever want to put them in an ackward situation. But after my grandfather died, I had a real desire to know more about Ernest and what became of him, and the thought of actually being in contact with his family is really wonderful. Thank you again so much for your assistance with this. If you decide you'd rather not contact Mrs. Long, please know that I will understand. Thank you again so much!

Another Christine has knowledge of your cousin. You didn't say that you are seeking to meet your relatives--are you? The polite way for me to connect you would be through Mrs. Diana Falloon Long. I can contact her if you wish. Then she and her son can decide if they wish to talk to you. (They probably will.)

If so, he may be the same Jeff Long who went to Montgomery County R-II H.S. and graduated in 1985 or 1986. I remember him...very nice, very intelligent, and a VERY big Beatles fan...he even looked a bit like John Lennon. I'm not sure if it will help Miss Tucker get in touch, but I though I would offer. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZKB.2ACE/396.1 Message Board Post: Charles- I was looking into your query, and didn't have much luck. There are a few Perkins listed in the current cemetery index, but none by the names you have listed. Dr. Benjamin 5-26-1828 to 12-15-1911 +Mary Louise 7-10-1833 to 11-29-1907 John W. 1-14-1872 to 6-25-1961 +Lily May 8-9-1872 to 6-18-1961 dau. Grace 9-21-1895 to 6-27-1896 Lester 6-27-1884 to 2-6-1965 (MO PVT CO M 354 INF WWI) +Rosa Lee 1-26-1884 to 9-12-1968 (nee Patton) Sarah A. 6-22-1836 to 3-27-1856 (Wife of J.B. Perkins) William 1850 to 1925 Henry Andrews 8-7-1875 to 12-17-1942 Hiram 5-13-1882 to 10-19-1965 (never married) Most of the cemeteries where the above Perkins are lain are very close to several county lines...they may be burried in Warren, Callaway, Audrain, or Lincoln Counties. Sarah A. is listed as being in an "Unnamed Cemetery", however the location suggests it was outside of Americus in the Southwest part of the county, in which case, I believe it is destroyed. *The History of Montgomery County 1885 records that Dr. Samuel J. Moore, killed during Anderson's Raid on Danville in October of 1864 was married to a daughter (name not given) of Rev. L.T. McNeiley (M.E. Church South @ Danville). After the Doctors death she re-married the Honorable E.F. Perkins, of Linneus, MO. *The same text also mentions John H. Sailor and wife Virginia (nee Perkins) both of Kentucky, having a son by the name of Isaac O. Sailor and living at Loutre Island (which lies in both Warren and Montgomery Counties). Isaac was a blacksmith and farmer in that area before moving north to Montgomery City where on 2-24-1857 he married Sebrina Peveler (dau. of David Peveler). They had 3 children: Ellen, wife of John Norman; John D. (married-no name given), and William O. who also became a blacksmith. I'm sorry I don't have anything more to offer, but I hope some of it helps. Christine

Also, any stories you or your mother may have are priceless to me and my family. Thank you again so much for your willingness to help. You have truly brightened my day! :) Have a wonderful night.
