The Hirschvogels left from Hamburg, Germany, sailed to New York on the ship Thecia Josephine and landed on 9-6-1852. Here is the information on the passenger list: Page 1, lines 9-13 Michael Hirschvogel age 51, farmer Theresia, his wife age 46 (the only record I have of her) There is some speculation she died at sea or before Michael, son age 18 or 19 (unclear) Theresia, dau age 16 Juliane, dau age 11 Anna, dau age 9

I am researching the PAYNE family that lived in Audrian and Montgomery counties from pre Civil War through now. is anyone related or researching this family? Their children were Charles, Elizabeth, John C, Hannah Jane, Isabella, Sarah Abigail, Joseph Bruce, Barbara Adaline and George H. Born during the time frame of 1844-1862. Looking for newspaper articles concerning Wabash freight engine boiler explosion on January 10, 1932 near Truesdale, MO. Looking for information on the men killed and injuried: Fireman Frank C. Foster, Brakeman J. C. Christy and Engineer Louis Zeller. The men worked out of Moberly, MO. Mr. Christy later died; his wife Willie Jewell (Scruggs) Christy was accompanied back to Moberly "...by her sister, Mrs. T. F. Green, and Mr. Green and their son, of St. Louis." I'm looking for this Willie Jewell Scruggs, daughter of William Scruggs and Georgia Ann Welch. Jewell was born November 4, 1898 in New Florence. Her sister was the above Mrs. T. F Green, trying to find any information on this Green Family. Also Georgia Ann (Welch) Scruggs, born March 9, 1857, in Vernon County; lived most of her life in St. Charles, was a member of the Methodist Church at Wellsville and of the Wellston Rebekah Lodge St. Louis. At her death, July 3, 1941, in Moberly, MO; she was survived by two daughter; Willie Jewell (Scruggs) Christy Leake (remarried to a William Richard Leake) and Mrs. J. A Worley of St. Louis. I believe this Mrs. J. A. Worley is Mrs. T. F. Green. Is there a Historical or Genealogical Society in Montgomery County? Any help would be appreciated Sheryl Franklin Morgan

Surnames: Stacey, Moore, Berry, Brooksher, Brookshire, Brookshaw, St. Cyr Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZKB.2ACE/408 Message Board Post: John D. Stacey was born about 1847 in French Canada. His father, name unknown, was born in Ireland; his mother, also name unknown, was born in Canada. This is according to the 1880 Census, Loutre Township, Montgomery County, Missouri. He married Sarah Brooksher (or Brookshire, Brookshaw, etc.) by 1870, probably in Missouri for she was born there about 1852. The only child I have been able to find for John was Matilda (found in later censuses as "Tilda C."), born March 1871 in Missouri. Matilda first married, in 1892 in Callaway County, Missouri, Charles Moore, born January 1861 in Missouri. They had at least four children, found in the 1900 Census, Loutre Township, Montgomery County, Missouri: Sarah E., born Jan 1893 James H. L., born Feb 1895 Hattie G., born May 1897 Flora B. C., born July 1899 All the children were born in Missouri. Charles Moore is said to have died about 1907-8. Matilda married, second, by 1910, Albert Tate. They were enumerated in the 1910 Census as husband and wife. Sarah Elzada Rebecca ("Sadie") Moore was married in 1910 in Callway County, Missouri to Charles Edgar Berry. Their son, Cecil Edgar Nathaniel Roosevelt Berry, was born 1917 at Mokane, Callway, Missouri. Cecil first married Nelda Jeanne St. Cyr, 1943 at Yuma, Arizona, while he was in the U.S. Army, stationed in California. Their son, Patrick Berry, was born in 1946 at Kansas City, Missouri. Patrick Berry was my former husband. He died 25 Apr 2005 and I am going back and trying to trace his family for my children. I have lost or seriously misplaced my notes from before our divorce in 1981, which makes the quest doubly difficult. I have just found the 1880 Census information at the LDS website and am hoping that someone else is already tracing this line. Any information or clues that I receive will be passed on to Patrick's half-brother, who is also interested in finding their common ancestry. Please let me know if you have any leads pertaining to the family of John D. Stacey (his middle name is believed to be David). John was living in 1892, when he signed his permission for Matilda to marry. Anything you can throw my way will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Alma Robertson

Rice-Montgomery Co., MO 1.. William B. Rice, revolutionary soldier buried at Gregory Cemetery, west of Danville, MO, settled in Montgomery Co. in 1825. He was married to Rebecca Arlington/Allington, by whom he had six children, David (m Elizabeth Henderson), William G. (married Mary Vandiver, then Sally Vandiver), Benjamin, Samuel, Callier and Sophia. This particular William B. Rice purportedly traveled with Daniel Boone on one of his expeditions to KY. Son William G. Rice had three children by Mary Vandiver, and nine by Sally. It is said he was once an assessor to the county of Montgomery and also had a tavern on Booneslick Road. Who are the spouses of the other named children of William B. Rice; who were his parents? Who were the children of William G. Rice and what has happened to their descendents. Any connection with John Rice of Boone Co., who was in MO by 1820? Marion
