Mo. I find him in the 1860 census in Benton Co Mo with his wife Mary Ann and three children. If this sounds familiar to anyone would you please email me. Jonathan is as far back as I can get at the minute. His wife was Mary Ann Skaggs, James Jefferson is his son, his daughter Myrtle Arnold is my greatgrandmother. Wife Sarah Stephanson . Moved to Montgomery County about 1830 possibly from TN. He died in Montgomery Co, Mo 24 Dec 1891. She died in Benton City, MO 12 Jul 1893. She was buried in the Montgomery City Cemetery. I assume he may have been buried either there or on his farm 9 miles North of Montgomery City. They are the parents of Sarah , Mary , Susan, William, John Jr, Louisa, Rebecca, George H., Martha Ann, Charles, Catherine, James, and Thomas.

My trip to MO was wonderful. Found a lot of information at the State Archives in Jefferson City, MO. Didn't get to go to St Charles or St Louis. Next time! I'm sure I will find more informtion on John & Elizabeth & children. Did get a lot of Marriage Certificates on the King's, Spires, Bryan, Welch and other families related. Rachel Curtice/Curtise) back. They were married in TN; children: Lydia, Moses, David..and a couple more whose names I've forgotten.. Moses Jr married 'Miss Patton" who died after having 3 children James, John and a daughter. He married Rhoda Patton, dau of Jacob Patton and (Rachel's sister ? ) Curtice. They had: David, my gr-grandfather, (m. Julia Hall) Elmira (Myrt Gower's mother), Mary Jane (m. Bedford), and a 3rd daughter. Both Moses Sr and wife and Moses Jr and wife are buried in the Ellis cemetery next to the family place on Rt 19, McKittrick, MO . Sorry I'm vague on names. I haven't done much work on this in a couple of years. Please communicate with me directly at the above e-mail address. Walkenbach, Wassenburg and Schluss. Some married into our family. I talked to my mother who knows that Theodore Schluss married an Anna Lauer, March 14, 1887. She died Feb. 2, 1897 in childbirth (noted in baptismal record). Theodore married again to Leona Wassenburg and the family did go to California. Theodore and Anna had four descendants, Steve, Hermann, Ben, and (Rosa?) Mary Schluss. Steve also went to California. Have more info on Schluss and Lauer descendants. Anna Lauer was my great aunt.
