He is of the Hermann/Rhineland Koenigs. Gerhard (not GeBhard) Koenig is his Great-grandfather. I have looked up the 1860 Census from Loutre Township, Montgomery Co., Missouri and found Henry King. I question if this is the correct lineage for the family, as Gerhard Koenig's date of birth that has been recorded in my husband's family is Jan 12, 1859. So he SHOULD have been recorded on the 1860 census, since the enumeration date was 28th Aug 1860. Granted, an error could have been made, and Gerhard could have been left off. I have also found Gerhard in the Loutre Township, Montgomery Co., Missouri Census for 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930. (He died Jul 15, 1936). If the above mentioned Henry King IS his father, Gerhard reverted back to the Koenig spelling, which is actually the anglicized spelling. Konig (the 'o' would have an umlaut(sp?)), would be the German spelling of the name. I have found others online who have posted One World Tree information that gives his original name as Joannes Henricus Konig. These people list Joannes' wife (and the mother of Gerhard, Bernard, Caroline and Johanna) as Joanna Catharina Koorman. I would be interested in trading information with anyone who has information to share on this line.

Frederich married Margaret Ann Grooms in Loutre Township in 1866, she is the daughter of William and Catherine Grooms. Has anyone heard of any of these people.

I know that he lived next to my Andersons in this county. Wondering if there is yet another 'connection'. Now that you have told me why he was named Anderson, maybe I will be able to figure it out. Betty Brooks has (very kindly) responded to my query. She sent me the following information, and thought to post here for those researching these two families (Pew & Anderson). It must be noted that there were at least three early Mont CO MO Anderson families. 1) Presley Anderson clan from KY, 2) the John H. Anderson clan from VA 3) The 'other' John Anderson family who emigrated from England. ---> Not sure if the #1 & 2 groups are connected further back in VA. Maybe, maybe not. More research is needed. Many confuse the two groups. My Mont MO Anderson family hailed from Mont CO KY; the eldest was Presley Anderson who died 1858. This Presely was the son of Presley who died in Bath CO KY 1816. Hope this helps some others reseraching these families. Are there any Andersons buried in this cemetery? I know that Rueben P. Pew (s/o Rueben C.) married Sarah Parke. Rueben P. and Sarah had a son Arasmas Dowell Pew who married Lucy Anderson the d/o Presley and Euphemia Anderson. This is 'my' Anderson family. I have also wondered who Anderson S.
