I was going through an old photo ablum my father found in Missouri a number of years back. Inside it was a post card from "Eolian" of Yoder, Wyoming to her aunt and uncle (Mr. W. B. Thompson) of Middletown, Missouri. It was post marked Dec 30, 192-. Would anyone know these individuals? If you are a relative, I would be pleased to send the card to you. In fact, if the photos are related to the Thompson family, I would also send them - thought the photos are from the mid to late 1800s with not names. A couple were taken at Camp Douglas, Ill. My present plans are to give the album and post card to the Montgomery Co Historical Society when I'm in Montgomery City next month. Chet Reno, NV

Good evening! In browsing the 1870 census I came across a listing for a "Miede" Stevenson, age 74 born in North Carolina. Did this lady die in Montgomery county and if so where is she buried? I hope close by some other Stevenson/Stephensons! Thank you for your time. Mary in Alaska where spring is thinking about it
Is anyone researching WARE in Montgomery? I have a Levi Warren Zumwalt who married Margaret Irene Ware 6 May 1877 (Marriage Book 1A, Record Number 123) and I am trying to trace her parents. Levi's mother was Elizabeth A. Ware who came from Caswell Co., NC and I am trying to find out if Margaret is a niece or not at all related. Elizabeth Ware's parents settled in Pike Co., MO. I have a lot of information on Elizabeth's line. Thanks, Linda Kanevsky dkanevsky@aol.com

Looking for information on Dr. William Wallace Daniels of Danville, Montgomery County, Missouri who I believe was married to Margaret Anna Burks. I believe he was a local doctor for Danville around 1914. / Thanks, Dan
I don't have the information right in front of me, but after the 1870 census, 1871/72 another township was created, and Montgomery City was included in the new township. So there isn't any missing 1870 townships in the census. I think it was taken from what is now Upper Loutre- Betty ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chester Buchanan" <chetbuchanan@charter.net> To: <MOMONTGO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 30, 2006 5:57 PM Subject: Re: [MOMONTGO] Montgomery City > I assume that they would be in Montgomery Township, at least according to the 1897 Standard Atlas. Surnames: Dillon, Dillion Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZKB.2ACE/429.1.1 Message Board Post: Samuel Dillon/Dillion was born in Montgomery County, Virginia about 1796. He married Mary A. Rinehart March 29 1818 in Tazewell County. He was the son of James Dillon and Martha Belcher. The area he lived in became Giles County, then Tazewell County, then Mercer County, Virginia. He appears in tax records and censuses through the 1850 census for Mercer County, at which time it appears that he moved to Missouri and he and Mary appear in the 1860 and 1870 censuses for Montgomery County. Samuel and Mary appear to have had at least 14 children. 13 survived to adulthood. 6 (George, Martha (Holstine), Christopher, James, Rhoda (Davidson), and Delila (Collins)) moved to Missouri, one (Samuel W.) died in the Civil War, and 6 (Betsey (McKinney), Nancy (Shrader), Hugh, Chloe (Shrader), Mary (Stump), and Sarah (Shrader)) stayed in what became West Virginia. I would appreciate any further details on Samuel and Mary in Missouri. I do not have their dates of death nor their place of burial. George McKinney (Samuel would have been my ggggrandfather)

Are you related to Carol Diane Taylor? Sampson B. & Augusta Hudson are supposed to be my great grandparents, through their son Frank. He was born in Clinton, Vermillion Co., IN on Aug. 29, 1888.From the dobs of all their kids, they seemed to have the Hudson wanderlust, because they moved around almost every 2 yrs.! According to other relatives, Augusta's maiden name was supposed to have been some variation of spelling of Hoselton, and her parents were either Arthur or Amos Hoselton, and either Isabella Shrout or Florence Cather (depending on which relative's research you want to believe). There's other descrepancies between the family reports as well, regarding Augusta. Tara Painter (related to Sampson's sister, Mary Ellender) states her name as being Mary Augustine "Augusta" Hoselton, with her parents being Arthur Hoselton & Florence Cather. Richard Heckelsberg claims that her name was Augusta Mary Hoselton, with her parents being Amos Hoselton & Isabella S! hrout. Both claim she was born in Benton City, Scott CO., MO on Jan. 10, 1869 or 1870. Her gravestone is located in the Baptist Moses cemetery in Seelyville, IN (on HWY 340?) between Terre Haute and Brazil, IN. It reads: Mother, Augusta M. Hudson, 1870-1907. She is buried by Sampson B. Hudson, Elendar Hudson (as spelled on gravestone) and a few other relations.. I have been told stories of how she was supposed to be full blooded indian, but I've heard she was Blackfoot, Cherokee or Chickasaw, according to who is telling the story. Anyways, I'm sure we are related, so keep in touch, okay? I am in constant touch with Cordie's grandaughter, Carol Diane Taylor.
