Surnames: Reed, Tannehill, Taylor, Smith, Lathrop, Shumway, White Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZKB.2ACE/479 Message Board Post: Seeking info on Thomas Reed/Read/Reid from Worcester Co., Md. He was born 1807 in Md., came to MO in ca. 1851 and settled in Middletown, Montgomery Co. Thomas had married three times -- Elizabeth Taylor, 1829; Clarissa Holland, 1843, and Matilda Ellis in 1846. Matilda is the wife that came with Thomas to Missouri; first two wives died in Maryland. In his entire life, Thomas Reed had about 15 children, although I do not know how many of them lived to maturity -- certainly a large percentage. Children are as follows: Isaac James Reed -- b. 1830 John Henry Reed -- 1832-1906 [Montgmry Co.] George Thomas Reed -- b. 1835 Mary Elizabeth Reed -- b. 1837 [?Montgom. Co.?] Stephen Miles Reed -- b. 1839 Matilda Jane Reed -- b. 1842 Willmer Handy Reed -- 1845-1929 [Pike Co.] Miles Reed -- b. ca. 1847 [name not clear] William Reed -- b. ca. 1846 Virginia Reed -- b. ca. 1848 Missouri Reed -- b. ca. 1852 Frank Reed -- b. ca. 1854 Marion Reed -- b. ca. 1856 Zippora Reed -- b. ca. 1858 Lavina Reed -- b. ca. 1860 Looking for Thomas Reed & wives dates of death and burial places (MO & MD) as well as corrected info on children. My line is descended from one of Thomas' children -- but he had 14 others that I would like to get to know. Willing to share the information that I have.

All of the surnames above are found on headstones in the cemetery. I am sure that there are other burials there where the stones are no longer standing or are buried. The list of names above was compiled from the Spencer & Stephens photographic cemetery reading in 2005 and the Short & Bowers reading of 1964. I visited this cemetery in June of 2006 and the condition had greatly deterioriated since my previous visit in June 2005. Many more stones were down, possibly due to a wind storm that had gone through the area this spring. Dininger is one of those cemeteries that is not too far gone and could be saved if we have enough interest in undertaking such a project. You can see a few photos of the cemetery that were taken in June 2005 at: http://gene_jane.home.insightbb.com/ There is further information available and headstone photographs at: http://album.dcoweb.org/dininger/index.htm . On that page, in addition to the Tom Midlam photographs, there is a link to the "Dininger Church Records" transcription which contains information on funerals performed by ministers Mayer and Benzin and a listing of marriages performed by ministers Althoff, Mayer, and Benzin. These files contain additional information on some of the burials and adds surnames that are not in the cemetery listing. Additionally, Roger Spencer and Becky Stephens have photographed and published the Dininger Cemetery (Title: Beech Grove, Clark's Station, Dininger and Miller Cemeteries, Liberty Township, Darke County, Ohio). Luckily, these photos were taken before the latest damage befell the cemetery. If you have family in the Dininger Cemetery, or know of others who might have, please pass this message on to them. I would really like to save this cemetery before it becomes too far gone to save. If you have interest in this cemetery, please contact [close up the spaces to use]: jane.torres @ insightbb.com Thanks, --Jane Torres

I have not been able to locate him in the 1830 census and I believe he may have been related to Daniel and William Clendennin who were taxed in Callaway Co in 1823-24-25. Obviously, he could have died or sold his property and moved on. 1) Are there any extant probates/wills/administrations for Montgomery Co. from 1825-1830? 2) Are there any extant deeds which would/might show this George W. Clendennon as either a grantee or a grantor in the time period covered in the tax lists? Thank you. I appreciate whatever assistance you can give me. Sharon Bryant

Berry born abt 1856 in Floyd, Co. Iowa to William Berry (b. NH) and Elizabeth Harmon.(b. PA) He is on 1856 state census of Iowa; again in 1860 and 1870 all in Floyd, Co. His mother died shortly after the 1870 census. Father remarried a woman named Huldah Hunt and is on the 1880 census with her. I cannot locate Henry in 1880. His maternal grandmother, Hulda Vaughn Harmon Bassett died in (UT)1886 and in her estate records, Henry E. Berry is shown to be in Audrain Co., MO; when the estate was finally settled on 26 Jan 1891, Henry E. Berry signed receipts for his share of the estate and his residence is listed as Wellsville, Montgomery Co., MO. He received his inheritance from Judge Stuart. Would like to know if there are court records of a Judge Stuart and would love to contact anyone with any information regarding Henry. I do not know if he was married and had descendants. Attached is a copy of the receipt he signed.
