Oh, yes. Joanna- I am sure that is the family. Thanks again.
Thanks to both of you. No, I don't know when Camille was born. I got what information I had from a grand aunt who was the family historian in her day. She was admittedly inaccurate. We are trying to tie up all of the loose ends she left. Were Zonie Cope's grandparents John W. and his wife, then? Linda
Do you know when Camille was born?
Is this the person? Mrs. Camilla Virginia Cope b. 12 Feb 1871 d. 4 Jul 1908 obit published in Montgomery City Standard She's on the 1900 census with her husband, Zone, b. Nov 1868, and their daughter, Lillian R., b. Oct 1895, in Montgomery City. They had been married 5 years; census day was 1 Jun 1900. Camilla had had one child. His obit: Zone Cope Abt 70 d. 25 Mar 1939 obit published in Montgomery City Standard He's probably Arazona [sic] Cope, age 1, on the 1870 census in Danville, s/o Samuel and Elizabeth Cope. On the 1880, Samuel Cope's wife's name is Margrett/Margaret, and Arozonia, 10, is enumerated as F and son. I'd guess that his name was actually Arizona. I hope this helps. Carol- Since you are researchig Cope, do you know of a marriage between a Cope male and Camille Fipps in either Montgomery City or Danville,. The Fippses lived near your Cope's and this marriage I was not able to track down through the usual means. This would be in the era after John W. Cope, more likely his kids or grandkids. Camille was the daughter of Joseph Fipps and Anne Chapman. Thanks- Linda Kanevsky dkanevsky@aol.com

Hello, Below is what I have in my records from the Montgomery Standard newspaper concerning Jane Cope. Hope it is helpful to your research. Faye Montgomery Standard, MO 28 Dec 1883 Page 3, Column 5 Dec. 12, 1883 at the home of her son, J. C. Cope near Price's Branch, Mrs. Jane Cope of paralysis of the brain, aged 79y, 11m, 14d. Born in KY, reared there, married and raised 13 children in Franklin co., Tenn. In 1850 she moved with her husband, John W. Cope, and an unbroken family of children to this county. Her husband died in 1852, since which time she has made her home with her son. -----Original Message----- From: momontgo-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:momontgo-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of Betty Sent: Sunday, February 04, 2007 7:23 PM To: momontgo@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MOMONTGO] Cope family in Montgomery Co. It started out as the Hunt Cemetery, later added to it was the Catholic Cemetery.
