Nolte - Scribner Marriage "Miss Majorie Nolte, Kansas City, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Nolte, Madison, became the bride of Mike Scribner, Kansas City, Mo., Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. The wedding ceremony was performed at the country home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Nolte, Madison by Rev. Dr. Henry Clay Niles, who is a Bible professor at Westminister College, Fulton. The double ring ceremony was read in an arrangement of Woodward and ferns and white mums flanked by candelabrums formed a chancel setting. Jimmie Gidley of Kansas, was interpreter for the young couple. Kay Wandrey, Holldiay, played the traditional wedding march and pre-nuptials music; she played and sang, "Walk Hand in Hand". Elmer Nolte, Kansas City, brother of the bride served as best man and Betty Roberts, Moberly, was maid of honor. The bride wore a gown of white lace over taffeta with a fitted bodice. Her chapel length veil fell from a crown of flowers. Her slippers were white and she carried a white Bible topped with red roses. Betty Roberts, maid of honor, wore a blue lace gown over taffeta with white slippers and her corsage was of red roses. For her daughter's marriage, Mrs. Nolte chose a navy blue street dress with matching accessories; her corsage was of white mums. Mrs. Scribner received her grade and high school education at the Deaf School at Fulton. Mrs. Scribner is employed at Kansas City at Sears and Mr. Scribner is a cabinet maker in Kansas City. A reception followed the wedding with Mrs. Bobby Johnston, Mrs. Ralph Dothage and Mrs. Frank Reuther in charge of the serving. Mrs. Reuther baked the wedding cake that was served with punch to the following guests: Mrs. Ida Meinershangen, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Meinershagen, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mathis and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nolte, of Higginsville; Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Dothage, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dothage and family, and Mrs. Bobby Johnston and son, Lexington; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Reuther and family, Carter, Mo., and Mrs. Will Nolte, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Nolte and family and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence (Rensor), Blackburn; Jimmie Gidley, (Bill) Wilcox, and Helen Lile, Kansas City; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Noel and family and Betty Roberts, Moberly; Curtis Dixon, Donald (Dixon), Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Black, Mr. and Mrs. Lyndell Davenport, Mr. and Mrs. Al Carpenter, Mr. and Mrs. J.L Carpenter and family, Kay Wandrey, Mrs. Edwin Wandrey, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. James Robertson, Shelbina, and Elmer Nolte, Kansas City."
