    3. Article from unknown source with handwritten date of April 9, 1956. Extracted from the newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of Madison, Missouri. Clara Jane Botkins Wed to Lynn Akers "Miss Clara Jane Botkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Botkins, southwest of Paris and Lynn (Sammy) Akers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Akers, southwest of Paris, were married by Rev. Lon Williams in a double ring ceremony Sunday, 2 p.m. at the Mr. Airy Baptist Church. "Because" and "The Lords Prayer" was sung by Karen Dickerson, accompanist was Patsy Campbell. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white lace over taffeta, accented by pleats. Her corsage was red roses. The bride carried out the old tradition of something old, something new and blue. Howard Miller served as best man and Frieda Holohan as maid of honor. Mrs. Holohan wore an aqua gown, her corsage was white carnations. The bride's mother was dressed in Navy blue with white carnations as her corsage. The grooms mother was dressed in Navy blue pink accessories. Her corsage was white carnations. A reception followed the ceremony given in the church basement for relatives and friends. Mrs. Sam Wade, grandmother of the groom, baked the wedding cake. The couple took a short wedding trip and now reside in an apartment in Holliday. Mrs. Botkins is a graduate of the 1956 class at Madison. The groom is a telegrapher and operator at Carrolton, Mo."
